Bruce J. Walz, Ph.D. Chair, Department of Emergency Health Services Professor of Emergency Health Services Affiliate Associate Professor of Gerontology University of Maryland, Baltimore County Bruce Walz received a B.A. in Biology from Western Maryland College, an M.A. in Human Sciences from Hood College, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park in Agricultural and Extension Education.
His research interests are in the areas of prehospital emergency service provider education. Related to the area of gerontology, Dr. Walz is interested in exploring the interaction of assisted living and nursing home staff with prehospital emergency medical service (EMS) providers as well as the service and economic impact of ambulance coverage for such facilities. He has authored numerous papers on EMS related topics and has presented internationally. He is a book author and has written a number of chapters and sections in EMS related publications. In addition, Dr. Walz is a practicing paramedic and instructor. |
