Jim Trela received a B.A. in Sociology from American International College, and received both his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Case Western Reserve University. 

Dr. Trela’s broad areas of interest include deviant behavior, social problems and aging and the life cycle. He is currently studying the relationship between age and gambling as a form of age related consumer behavior and public health concern.
