Elizabeth Galik, RN, MS, Ph.D.Elizabeth Galik is a nurse practitioner that specializes in the medical and neuropsychiatric care of older adults with dementia.  She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and practices clinically at Roland Park Place, a continuing care retirement community, and the Memory Center at Sheppard Pratt.   Currently, she is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Faculty Scholar and is conducting research on the impact of Function Focused Nursing Care on assisted living residents with dementia.   Dr. Galik has presented at national and regional conferences, authored peer reviewed articles and book chapters on dementia and assisted in the development of instruments designed to assess the general medical health and physical activity of older adults with dementia. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association and the Maryland Gerontological Association.
